The Silvretta Alps are a mountain range of the Central Eastern Alps shared by Tirol, Vorarlberg (both in Austria) and Graubünden (Switzerland).
The majority of the peaks are elevated above three thousand metres and are surrounded by glaciers. Thus, the area is also known as the "Blue Silvretta". The Silvretta is famous for its many backcountry skiing possibilities.
I took these photos on a cold autumn morning in October. There was only few light due to the dense fog.
The slightly depressed mood is emphasized with monochromatic tone mapping.
But in the end the sun finally toke over.
The Greina (2355 m) is a high mountain pass across the western Lepontine Alps, connecting Sumvitg in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland and Olivone in the canton of Ticino. The pass lies between the Piz Medel on the north and Pizzo Marumo, Piz Terri on the south.
